KU GSIS selects nominees for 2025-2 Dual Degree Program students for University of London SOAS the School of Finance and Management(SFM)as below. Interest and participation for this program will be much appreciated.


According to the MOA contract between KU GSIS and SOAS SFM, the courses taken during the Dual DegreeProgram will be credited(Max. 15 credits).



Option 1: March start, 6 months at KU, 1 year at SOAS, final 6 months at KU

Students start their masters award at KU in March and do 6 months of taught modules at KU.

In September of the first year, students will then progress to SOAS to start their one year masters programme at SOAS. Students will complete the standard masters course at SOAS including the dissertation. Dissertations must be submitted by September and the masters award from SOAS will be conferred in December of the second year.

In September of the second year, students will return to KU and will choose to follow the remainder of the KU course opting to enrol in taught modules or to complete and submit another dissertation to KU on a topic ascertained to be distinct from the dissertation submitted to SOAS.



Option 2: September start at KU, 1 year at KU, 1 Year at SOAS

Students will begin their studies at KU for one year. Assuming students have met the KU requirements for progression to the second year, they will progress to SOAS for the second year starting the following September. A dissertation will be completed at SOAS and a degree awarded by SOAS by December of the second year at SOAS.

Students who successfully complete their studies, shall be eligible to have conferred upon them a degree awarded by SOAS and KU. Each of the partners will confer a separate award. When students have met the requirements of each institutions masters award they will be issued with a degree from that institution. Each student will receive two separate certificates; one from SOAS and one from KU.

Since students must complete their last semester in KU, students who choose option 2 must register extra semester(the fifth semester).

* Applicants nominated by KU GSIS are normally accepted by the host institution, but the host institution retains the right to review these students and to make the final decision concerning their admission.

Lack of availability, capacity or any other circumstance at the host institutions may result in denial of qualified applicants.


** Any scholarship fellows who are funded by other origination such as POSCO, Pony Chung, NIIED, KOICA etc. to study here at Korea cannot apply for an exchange/dual degree programs.


*** After completing an exchange/dual program and getting back to KU GSIS, students will not be eligible for the int’l scholarship in coming semester because grade earned in their exchange institution cannot be compared with those of KU GSIS. (In case of dual degree program, from their 2nd semester at the host Uni. to their returning semester to KU GSIS)
