2026학년도 2학기 종합시험 신청을 아래와 같이 안내드립니다.
종합시험 면제 대상자 역시 종합시험 신청서에 '면제' 표시하여 반드시 제출해주시기 바랍니다.
1. 석사과정 - 논문 트랙만 해당
1) 응시 자격: 공통 및 전공별 자격을 모두 충족
(1) 공통: 3학기 이상, 33학점 이상 이수, 전체 평점평균 3.0 이상, 연구방법론 및 논문지도세미나I 이수
(2) 국제학(IIC/IDC/IPS/IAS): 국제경영(IRC020), 국제경제(IRC030), 국제정치(IRC040), 국제개발협력입문(IRC070) 중 3과목 이수
(3) 한국학(IKS): 한국근대사(IRC050), 현대한국입문(IRC060), 한국어 과목(IRC051, IRC052, IRC053을 모두 이수했거나 IRC051/IKS420에서 A이상을 취득하여 IRC052와 IRC053을 면제받은 학생)을 모두 이수
2) 시험 형태: 필기시험
3) 응시 과목
(1) 국제학: 공통(IRC020/IRC030/IRC040/IRC070) 1과목, 전공 1과목 응시(총 2과목)
(2) 한국학: 3분야 중 2분야(총 2과목)
4) 석사과정 종합시험 면제: 공통 및 전공별 면제 요건 모두 충족해야 면제, 2018년 9월 입학자부터 적용, 석사만 해당
(1) 공통 면제요건:33학점 이상 이수, 전체 평점평균 3.3 이상, 공통과목인 연구방법론, 논문지도세미나I을 모두 이수
(2) 국제학: 국제경영(IRC020), 국제경제(IRC030), 국제정치(IRC040), 국제개발협력입문(IRC070) 중 3과목 이수
(3) 한국학: 한국근대사(IRC050), 현대한국입문(IRC060), 한국어 과목(IRC051, IRC052, IRC053을 모두 이수했거나 IRC051/IKS420에서 A이상을 취득하여 IRC052와 IRC053을 면제받은 학생)을 모두 이수
* 2018년 3월 이전 입학자는 면제 요건 국제대학원행정팀에 별도 확인
5) 응시횟수: 응시횟수 제한 없음
2. 박사과정
1) 응시 자격: 3학기 이상 이수, 총 이수학점 27학점 이상, 전체 평점평균 3.0 이상
2) 시험 형태: 필기 또는 구술 중 택1
3) 응시 과목: 지도교수와 함께 논문 제안서 주제로 개발하고, 지도교수가 이를 참고하여 다음 중 한 가지 방식으로 문제 출제
(1) 세 가지 문제 중 한 문제 선택
(2) 두 가지 이상의 문제를 하나로 통합
(3) 새로운 문제 개발
4) 평가위원: 2명 이상 위촉 필수
5) 응시횟수: 3회까지만 응시 가능
3. 종합시험 신청 기간: 2026년 9월 15(화) 09:00 - 17일(목) 17:00
* 종합시험 면제 대상자도 반드시 '면제'에 체크하여 제출
4. 종합시험 신청 방법: 아래 두 가지를 모두 완료해야 신청 완료됨
1) 신청서류 제출: 아래 서류를 국제대학원행정팀 사무실(국제관223호)로 서면 제출
(1) 종합시험 신청서
(2) 성적표
(3) 전형료 납부 영수증(이체확인증 등)
* 종합시험 면제자는 종합시험 신청서만 제출(전형료 납부 불필요)
2) 전형료 납부
(1) 금액: 석사 2만원, 박사 4만원
(2) 전형료 납부 계좌: KEB하나은행 391-904468-08737
* 입금 시 본인 성명 학번 뒤 세자리 입력, 전형료는 환불 불가
5. 종합시험 일정: 2026년 10월 2일(금), 장소 추후 공지
6. 종합시험 합격 점수: 80점/100점 만점
7. 합격자 발표: 2026년 10월 12일(월) 14:00 (예정)
8. 종합시험 결과 확인 방법: KUPID - 학적/졸업 - 각종시험 신청/확인 - 합격내역조회

Fall 2026 KU GSIS Comprehensive Examination Guidelines
Please refer to the following guidelines for the Fall 2026 Comprehensive Examination.
Students eligible for exemption must also submit the Comprehensive Examination Application Form and indicate “Exemption.”
1. Master’s Program – Thesis Track Only
1) Eligibility: Students must meet both the general and major-specific requirements.
(1) General Requirements
- Completion of at least 3 semesters
- Completion of at least 33 credits
- Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Completion of Research Methods and Thesis Guidance Seminar I
(2) International Studies (IIC/IDC/IPS/IAS)
- Completion of 3 of the following 4 courses: International Business (IRC020), International Economics (IRC030), International Politics (IRC040), Introduction to International Development and Cooperation (IRC070)
(3) Korean Studies (IKS): Completion of Modern History of Korea (IRC050), Introduction to Contemporary Korea (IRC060), and Korean Language courses (IRC051, IRC052, and IRC053)
* Students who earned an A or higher in IRC051/IKS420 and were exempted from IRC052 and IRC053 are also considered to have completed the Korean Language course requirement.
2) Examination Format: Written Examination
3) Examination Subjects
(1) International Studies: One Common Course (IRC020/IRC030/IRC040/IRC070) and one course from the student’s major (2 subjects in total)
(2) Korean Studies: Two of the three fields (2 subjects in total)
4) Exemption from the Comprehensive Examination: Master’s students must meet both the general and major-specific exemption requirements. This applies only to Master’s students admitted in September 2018 or later.
(1) General Requirements
- Completion of at least 33 credits
- Overall GPA of 3.3 or higher
- Completion of Research Methods and Thesis Guidance Seminar I
(2) International Studies (IIC/IDC/IPS/IAS): Completion of 3 of the following 4 courses: International Business (IRC020), International Economics (IRC030), International Politics (IRC040), and Introduction to International Development and Cooperation (IRC070)
(3) Korean Studies (IKS): Completion of Modern History of Korea (IRC050), Introduction to Contemporary Korea (IRC060), and Korean Language courses (IRC051, IRC052, and IRC053)
* Students who earned an A or higher in IRC051/IKS420 and were exempted from IRC052 and IRC053 are also considered to have completed the Korean Language course requirement.
(4) Students admitted in March 2018 or earlier should contact the KU GSIS Administration Office to confirm the applicable exemption requirements.
5) Number of Attempts: No limit
2. Doctoral Program
1) Eligibility: Completion of at least 3 semesters, Completion of at least 27 credits, Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
2) Examination Format: Written or Oral Examination (choose one)
3) Examination Questions: Students shall develop a topic based on their dissertation proposal in consultation with their academic advisor. The advisor will prepare the examination questions using one of the following methods:
(1) Provide 3 questions from which the student selects 1
(2) Combine 2 or more questions into 1
(3) Develop a new question
4) Examination Committee: At least 2 examiners must be appointed.
5) Number of Attempts: Maximum of 3 attempts
3. Application Period: September 15 (Tue.), 2026, 09:00 – September 17 (Thu.), 2026, 17:00
* Students eligible for exemption must also submit the application form and indicate “Exemption.”
4. Application Procedure: Both of the following must be completed to apply.
1) Submit Application Documents: Submit the following documents in person to the KU GSIS Administration Office (International Studies Hall, Room 223):
(1) Comprehensive Examination Application Form
(2) Academic Transcript
(3) Proof of payment of the examination fee (e.g., bank transfer confirmation)
* Students applying for exemption need to submit only the Comprehensive Examination Application Form and do not need to pay the examination fee.
2) Pay the Examination Fee
(1) Fee
- Master’s: KRW 20,000
- Doctoral: KRW 40,000

* When transferring the fee, enter your name followed by the last 3 digits of your student ID number.
* The examination fee is non-refundable.
5. Examination Date: October 2 (Fri.), 2026
* The venue will be announced later.
6. Passing Score: 80 out of 100
7. Announcement of Results: October 12 (Mon.), 2026, 14:00 (tentative)
8. How to Check Results: KUPID → Academic Status/Graduation → Application/Confirmation for Examinations → View Pass Results
