주한 유럽연합(EU) 대표부는 오는 10월 14일-15일 고려대학교, 연세대학교, 한국외국어대학교의 장 모네 EU센터와 공동 주최하는 모의유럽연합 대회에 참가할 재능 있는 대학(원)생 50명을 모집합니다. 모의유럽연합은 전국 대학(원)생들이 유럽연합의 주요 의제에 대해 토론을 펼치는 대회입니다. 2021년 모의 유럽연합의 주제는 보건 안보이며, 유럽연합 이사회(Council of the EU)방식으로 진행됩니다.

선발된 학생들은 모의유럽연합 대회 전 10시간 온라인 교육 프로그램을 이수해야 합니다.

- 유럽연합 및, 보건안보에 대한 EU의 접근방식 소개
- 모의유럽연합 진행을 위한 유럽연합 이사회의 역할 및 실제 회의 진행 절차 교육
- 무료/ 영어로 진행/ 한국어 MEU 가이드 제공
참가자 혜택

The Delegation of the European Union (EU) to the Republic of Korea is looking for talented and ambitious students to partake in the MEU2021 simulation, co-hosted by the three Jean Monnet EU Centres of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Yonsei University and of Korea University. MEU2021 will take place on 14-15 October 2021 at the Obama Hall, as a full day event. The MEU2021 will focus on health security and will simulate a Council of the European Union meeting.
Recruiting Roles
- At least two EU Commission representatives
- At least two Secretariat of the Council of the European Union representatives
- National ministers for environment and health security of the 27 EU Member States
- At least ten journalists

The short video should outline the reasons and motivations for the application, as well as the student’s qualifications and skills.

Selection Criteria
- Motivation and good command of English
- Interest in European and international affairs
e.g., participating in academic studies, internships and other activities related to political science, international relations, journalism, communications, etc.
* The selection will be gender-balanced, equal opportunities to participate in the simulation will be given to both women and men.
Deadline for applications
August 31st, 2021 (Tuesday)
* Selected students will be notified as of September 10th, 2021 (Friday).
How to prepare for MEU2021?
Selected students are required to complete a 10-hour online training programme prior to the simulation. The course will:
- Provide the necessary background information to prepare for the MEU 2021;
- Provide introduction on the European Union, an overview of the EU’s approach to health security challenges;
- Provide detailed guidelines on the roles and procedures of the Council of the EU;
The online training is free of charge / available in English.
A MEU toolkit providing guidance on the process will be available in Korean.
What to gain from MEU2021?
- The three best students will win the possibility to travel to Brussels (Belgium) to attend a winter school for ten days (Travel and accommodation costs, as well as the Winter School’s fee will be fully covered for the awarded students);
- All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation signed by the EU Ambassador to the Republic of Korea.
