Dean's Welcome

Spearheading innovative international studies in Korea, the College of International Studies (CIS) and the Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS) continue fueling programs designed to cultivate public minds and advance public interests from the local to the global. 
 
Established in 1991, GSIS is committed to training experts who can meet the intellectual demands of the global era. Launched in 2002, the Division of International Studies (DIS) has grown into a college with two divisions, DIS and the Division of Global Korean Studies (GKS). Dedicated to excellence in teaching and pursuit of rigorous research, more than
30 scholars and experts in CIS and GSIS contribute to interdisciplinary programs that generate solutions to urgent local challenges and ever more complex global affairs. Encompassing and intersecting disciplines, our programs include International Commerce, International Development and Cooperation, International Peace and Security, Regional Studies, and Korean Studies. 
 
Together, CIS and GSIS now stand out as the multicultural hub of Korea University with nearly 700 students from over 60 countries. Graduates of CIS and GSIS are working in all corners of the globe and in a wide range of fields in the public and private sectors, educational and research institutes, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, and more.
